This covers two items that are very important in our Legion history and lives.

     First, this happens every 365 days except for leap year, we get to notch another year under our belts, and by the way that belt seems to be getting bigger. As we put 2007 to bed we must not lose focus on the things not yet completed in this legion year, but remains paramount in this upcoming year.  These programs are membership, Oratorical, Boys State, Law Cadet, and Baseball.  Each Post will receive information on every topic of concern so please follow up and let’s have another great year in every program listed.

     Second on our list of important happenings and I guarantee you this doesn’t happen yearly, is the Dedication of our new Department Headquarters.  Yes,  2008 begins another new year, but it also begins “A New Beginning” for our Department.

    March 5, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., we will dedicate 103 Legion Plaza Rd. and usher in your new Department Headquarters. 

     We also held our first Post Commander Informational meeting on January 5, 2008.  For those individual Posts represented, they were briefed on such topics as membership, budget issues, new building issues, programs, and a new building capital campaign program.  Very informative to those that chose to be informed. A New Year—-A New Beginning,  nothing to be ashamed of since both are realities.
